The leaked Cyberpunk 2077 Edgerunners 2 Update 2.5 adds new side quests and long-awaited features. One mission is a prequel to the anime series, while another reintroduces a mythical Night City figure. The patch also offers console improvements like modding and an FOV slider.
CD Projekt Red surprised fans by announcing a major Cyberpunk 2077 update. With the Edgerunners 2 Update 2.5, the studio teased dual-wielding combat and cyberware customization. However, a YouTuber has leaked the patch notes, headlined by new side missions and the arrival of console mods.
Twice the firepower
Gamers will learn more about the next Cyberpunk 2077 update during an October 21st stream. Still, before the official broadcast, YouTuber WesNemo revealed what viewers can expect in a now private video. He discussed the new combat style, explaining that a Double Trouble perk in the cool tree activates it.
Beyond fixes and technical improvements, the Cyberpunk 2077 2.5 patch adds fresh mission content. The "Clampdown" side quest serves as a prequel to the Edgerunners 2 anime series. To unlock it, complete a heist and two other jobs to earn a five-item gear set as a reward.
Richard Night, the long-lost founder of Night City, narrates an optional quest, "Welcome to Paradise". Players cruise the streets in hopes of solving a mystery. It’s available once gamers finish another heist and reach Street Cred level 15.
Mods come to PlayStation and Xbox
After many requests, Cyberpunk 2077 Edgerunners 2 Update 2.5 finally introduces console mods. WesNemo confirms that mod.io will be integrated into the game menus. Like The Witcher 3, Xbox and PS5 users can experiment with popular community-made tweaks. Even so, the Switch 2 isn’t supported yet, and not all files will be compatible right away.
Console fans should also see CD Projekt Red debut a FOV slider in the patch. Bringing the ports closer to the PC version, players can customize their point of view as they explore the futuristic open world.
In his YouTube leak, WesNemo details many of the new cosmetic options anticipated in Cyberpunk 2077 2.5. Some relate to Glamdocs, which alter the Mantis Blades, Gorilla Arms, the Projectile Launch System, and more.
