A live performer impersonating US President Donald Trump appeared behind bars in an art installation overlooking busy traffic at Tehran's Tajrish Square, north of the Iranian capital, late Tuesday.
The billboard-like installation features a mock prison cell protruding from the display, with the actor portraying Trump walking around and occasionally sitting inside it. The installation carries the message, “Not seeing this scene is a crime.”
Other messages displayed alongside the installation refer to a US strike in early September on a wedding ceremony in the southern Iranian town of Sirkik.
Iranian state media said the strike killed two women and two children and wounded more than 60 other people.
The installation presents a provocative depiction of the US president amid tensions between Washington and Tehran.
Tehran resident hopes depiction becomes reality
Farzaneh Arabzadeh, a 30-year-old Tehran resident, said she hoped the scene portrayed in the installation would become reality.
She blamed Trump for starting the war by attacking Iran, saying he had "done something that put our people in a worse situation.”
