Three gospel music organisers have announced the cancellation or postponement of their events following the death of gospel singer Olayemi Bolaji, popularly known as Toluwanisings.
Toluwanisings died on Wednesday, October 14, 2026, prompting tributes from members of the gospel music community.
Among the organisers that announced changes to their events are Kaywonder, Pure Gospel Music Generals Akure and AY Grace Music Ministry, which said the decisions were taken in honour of the late singer.
Kaywonder, the singer behind “Oke Nla”, on Thursday announced the postponement of the seventh edition of the Invasion Praise Concert, which was scheduled for Sunday, October 18, at 2pm.
In a statement, the organiser said the loss had deeply affected the gospel music community, prompting the decision to defer the event.
“Following the heartbreaking loss of one of the Gospel minister, Toluwanisings, we have been deeply affected by this painful moment. In honour of his memory and in recognition of the grief currently felt across the Gospel community, we have prayerfully decided to postpone the concert,” the statement read.
The organiser added that although preparations had been made for the gathering, the moment called for reflection, mourning and prayer.
“This is a difficult moment for us all. Although we eagerly anticipated gathering in God’s presence to worship and praise Him, we believe this is a time to pause, reflect, mourn, and stand together in love and prayer,” it added.
Kaywonder said a new date would be announced soon and asked the public to remember the late singer in their prayers.
Similarly, PUGMUG on Thursday announced the cancellation of its 10th anniversary celebration, which was scheduled for Friday, October 16, in honour of Toluwanisings, whom it described as a beloved brother and committed member.
“After careful consideration, and in honour of our beloved brother, we regret to announce that the 10th Anniversary Celebration scheduled for tomorrow has been cancelled,” the organisation said in its announcement.
It said the decision was made to allow members of the community to mourn and reflect, while expressing gratitude for the organisation’s 10 years of activity. It also apologised to guests, ministers and sponsors affected by the cancellation.
AY Grace Music Ministry also announced the postponement of this month’s edition of its All Sufficient Monthly Praise programme scheduled on Thursday.
In a statement shared on Instagram on Thursday, the artist said the decision followed the death of Toluwanisings, whom it described as a beloved brother in the gospel music industry.
“Following the sad and tragic loss of our beloved brother in the gospel music industry, Min. Toluwani Sings, we regret to announce the postponement of this month’s edition of The All Sufficient Monthly Praise,” the statement read.
The ministry said a new date would be communicated in due course and apologised for any inconvenience caused by the decision.
It also asked the public for understanding and prayers during the difficult period, while extending condolences to the late singer’s family, friends and loved ones.
“We also pray that God will comfort the family, friends, and loved ones he has left behind and grant them the strength and fortitude to bear this painful loss. May his soul continue to rest in perfect peace. Amen,” the statement added.
Toluwanisings was known for his energetic gospel performances and Yoruba-influenced praise songs, including “A Very Big God” and “Kabiyesi Olorun Ayo”. His death has drawn tributes from fellow gospel artistes and members of the Christian music community.
