What makes a workplace great? Competitive benefits and opportunities for advancement matter, but the employee experience also depends on organizational culture, leadership, professional development and the everyday environment in which people work.
Understanding these factors is essential to recognizing the employers that stand out across the United States.
For four consecutive years, Newsweek’s America’s Greatest Workplaces rankings have recognized organizations that prioritize their employees.
“Choosing where to work is one of the most consequential decisions a person can make," Manuel Moerbach, CEO of Plant-A Insights, told Newsweek. "Workplace studies matter because they give employees a voice and help job seekers understand how people experience an organization from the inside."
He continued: "Our America's Greatest Workplaces rankings combine employee feedback with broader analysis to bring greater transparency to that decision. For anyone considering their next professional move, the rankings offer a valuable starting point to identify potential employers, ask more informed questions during interviews, and assess whether a workplace aligns with their priorities and ambitions.”
The 2027 study continues this work, drawing on employee feedback, extensive research and a comprehensive evaluation of workplace performance.
Organizations can participate directly in the study by registering with Plant-A Insights Group. Participating employers receive a unique survey link to distribute to eligible U.S.-based employees, giving their workforces an opportunity to contribute directly to the research. Employee responses are anonymous and become part of the broader dataset used to evaluate organizations nationwide.
All organizations are assessed using the same methodology, regardless of whether they participate directly.
The survey closes November 1, 2026.
