Two men have been arrested, and a juvenile detained in Rajasthan’s Kota in connection with the firing at Bollywood actor Tiger Shroff’s car in Mumbai. The accused have been identified as Phool Singh and Rehan, both from Haryana, while the 17-year-old minor is a resident of Bihar.
A joint team of the Anti-Gangster Task Force (AGTF) Rajasthan and Kota City Police, acting on inputs from Mumbai Police, arrested the three men from the Railway Colony area.
The accused arrived in Kota aboard the Pune-Jaipur Superfast Express at around 10.15 am.
Two other people have also been detained in connection with the shooting, including one from the Maharashtra-Gujarat border today.
The firing incident took place on Sunday evening in Mumbai's Juhu as Tiger Shroff was leaving after playing a football match.
The Lawrence Bishnoi gang has claimed responsibility for the shooting and issued fresh threats against those working with Bollywood actor Salman Khan.
The Bishnoi gang’s hostility towards Salman Khan stems from allegations that the actor hunted and killed two blackbucks in Rajasthan in the late 1990s. The blackbuck is considered sacred by the Bishnoi community.
While Tiger escaped unhurt, his driver, Firdaus, and an autorickshaw driver, identified as Chauhan, were injured. The actor, who was seated on the side of the vehicle, shifted towards the driver’s seat after the shooting.
Just hours before the accused shooters were arrested, an image of two of them had surfaced.
The photograph, reportedly taken near the spot of the incident, shows both men dressed in white shirts, with one wearing a black cap bearing the Puma logo. At the time, their identities remained unknown.
Police have also seized a motorcycle used in the attack, which the accused abandoned at Andheri railway station before fleeing.
Preliminary findings have suggested that the vehicle is registered in Mumbai, and investigators are examining its registration details, number plate and chassis and engine numbers to establish its history.
The firing was captured on CCTV footage, which shows one of the men firing multiple shots while the second appears to attempt to fire, though it remains unclear whether his weapon discharged.
The third accused can be seen waiting on a motorcycle, seemingly ready to help his accomplices flee the scene.
