Anthropic and London-based private equity firm Hg have agreed to create an independent company that will embed consultants and engineers into European businesses and help those firms deploy artificial intelligence (AI), The Financial Times reported Friday (Oct. 23), citing unnamed sources.
The new consultancy, which is expected to launch by the end of the year, will have hubs in London and Berlin, according to the report.

Hg announced in September that it extended its existing collaboration with Anthropic to bring agentic AI capabilities to Hg’s portfolio companies. The companies had already been working together for three years on initiatives that include a joint AI hackathon series and staff enablement within Hg’s own business, the company said in a press release.
“Hg backed the shift toward agentic AI early, and the relationship we have built with Anthropic is central to that,” Hg Co-CEOs Steve Batchelor and JB Brian said in the September release. “As AI reshapes how software businesses build and compete, we want our portfolio companies to have a direct line to the frontier and are excited to continue to deepen our relationship with Anthropic.”
It was reported in May that monthly job listings for forward-deployed engineers had increased by more than 800% between January and September 2025, showing how quickly companies are creating roles focused on implementing AI systems inside enterprises.
Anthropic partnered in May with Goldman Sachs, investment firm Blackstone and private equity group Hellman & Friedman to launch a venture that helps enterprise companies embed Anthropic’s Claude AI model into their businesses.
“Our partnerships with the world’s leading systems integrators are central to how Claude reaches large enterprises,” Anthropic Chief Financial Officer Krishna Rao said at the time in a press release. “This new firm brings additional operating capability to the ecosystem and capital from leading alternative asset managers.”
It was reported in April that Anthropic rival OpenAI committed up to $1.5 billion for a private equity venture as part of a plan to overtake Anthropic in the race to sell AI tools to businesses. The report said that TPG, Bain Capital, Advent International, Brookfield and Goanna Capital would invest an additional $4 billion.
