A document from the Timetable Department of Serbian Railways Infrastructure, reviewed by Danas, indicates that six extra trains have been added to the schedule between Belgrade and Novi Sad.
The United Serbia electoral list represents a coalition led by the ruling Serbian Progressive Party (SNS) and includes candidates from the Serbian Radical Party (SRS), alongside several minor partner parties.
Friday’s rally marks the ruling party’s first major gathering in the Vojvodina capital since the tragic Novi Sad railway station canopy collapse on November 1, 2024, which claimed 16 lives.
N1 has reached out to Srbijavoz to confirm media reports regarding the request for extra scheduled trains between Belgrade and Novi Sad on Friday, as well as the reasoning behind the move. A response is currently pending.
By contrast, ahead of a major student protest in Belgrade on March 15, 2025, rail services were hit by widespread cancellations following an alleged bomb threat. The exact same scenario unfolded prior to a massive student rally in the capital in June that year, as well as ahead of the anniversary memorial for the Novi Sad tragedy victims on November 1, 2025.
