The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) has ordered an immediate investigation into a viral social media video alleging unprofessional conduct by personnel at its Akwa Ibom State office in Uyo.
The Commission, which expressed serious concern over the allegations, said its personnel were expected to treat every complainant with dignity, respect and professionalism, regardless of any provocation.
In a statement issued by its Director of Corporate Affairs and External Linkages, Fatimah Agwai Mohammed, the Commission said its professional standards did not permit staff to act inappropriately towards complainants, even in provocative circumstances.
