A video shows a woman cursing out a man she believed sexually assaulted her friend at a frat party near the University of Chicago over the weekend as a crowd cheered him on, according to a report.
Mia Lara, 21, screamed: “He f–king assaulted my friend in the bathroom of the f–king frat party! You can record all the s–t you want!” according to CNN.
The Post could not confirm whether the man in the video was the alleged assailant or had anything to do with the incident.
“I walk in there, you f–king took her clothes off!” Lara yelled in the video.
“She wanted to,” the man responded to Lara in the video, before she appeared to try to slap him and continued to run after him.
Lara told CNN after extracting her friend from the alleged assault inside a bathroom at the Alpha Epsilon Pi frat house in Hyde Park early Sunday, they sat on the sidewalk outside when Lara noticed a group of men pointing and laughing at the victim.
“I point at the guy, and I’m like, ‘You’re the one that was in the bathroom with her.’ I was like, ‘What did you do to her?’” Lara told the outlet.
They claimed Lara got the wrong guy — but she insisted it was the same man she saw inside the bathroom, she claimed in the interview.
The men then took off after misdirecting her attention, claiming the true assailant was trying to get back inside the frat house, she alleged to the outlet.
But Lara pursued them even as one of the men took out his phone and started taping her as she raged at who she believed was her friend’s alleged attacker.
Lara claimed the ugly incident first unfolded after she and her four pals showed up for the party they saw promoted online. None of them were students at UChicago and they didn’t know anyone at the party, she said. But two of the men they arrived with weren’t let inside, leaving Lara and her two girlfriends to go in alone, she told the outlet.
Lara saw her friend and a man kissing before they vanished and she later tracked them down to a locked bathroom as his friends cheered him on from the other side of the door, she told CNN.
Lara managed to bust into the bathroom where she saw her friend slumped on the floor, partially clothed, saying, “Get me out of here,” and “I don’t want to be here,” Lara said.
Her account to CNN mirrors her first interview with the New York Times earlier this week.
A police report of the incident said the alleged victim had three cans of an unknown alcoholic beverage and “began feeling unwell” and “blacking out,” the Chicago Tribune reported.
The victim was “not fully conscious” while she was in the bathroom, she told police.
UChicago said Tuesday that it had identified a “person of interest” but said they couldn’t reveal his name since the cops were still probing the incident and charges had not been filed.
The man didn’t attend the university but has been banned from campus, the college said. The school also noted it didn’t have any official affiliation with Greek life, though the groups still needed to follow campus rules.
Meanwhile, Jonathan Pierce, a spokesman for the national AEPi organization, said the alleged assailant wasn’t a member of the fraternity and said when members of the frat heard about the incident they offered assistance to her.
“There is no evidence at all that any AEPi members participated in this assault or were aware of it while it was transpiring,” Pierce said in an email to The Post.
As for the men allegedly cheering outside the door, “We do not believe that any of those people were AEPi members,” Pierce added.
Pierce and the police declined to comment on the video. The university didn’t return The Post’s request for comment on the video.
