By Zoila Palma: Galen University’s Anthropology Club participated in World Archaeology Day celebrations by hosting an educational outreach booth at Cahal Pech in San Ignacio, Cayo.
The event was organized by the Institute of Archaeology and the National Institute of Culture and History (NICH), bringing together participants to celebrate Belize’s rich archaeological heritage and promote greater public awareness of the country’s history.
Galen University’s outreach booth provided an opportunity for anthropology students to engage with members of the public, share their enthusiasm for archaeology and encourage interest in archaeological education.
Despite challenging weather conditions, the event was well attended and provided an enjoyable learning experience for participants.
Galen University extended special thanks to anthropology students Razziel Rodriguez, Abi Sarmiento, Mya Bolon, Gerrard Aird, Jorge Castellanos, Aaron Depaz, Timothy Mesh, Asha Ozaeta and Alexis Peers for their enthusiasm, hard work and contributions to the event.
