Washington has a lengthy injury report for Friday night's game against Purdue as they search for their first Big Ten win.
Sideline reporter and radio host Dave Mahler said Wednesday that the Huskies were dealing with a team-wide flu bug, which could explain a number of the absences.
Here's who's on the report before kickoff.
QB Demond Williams Jr. - GAME-TIME DECISION
Demond Williams' availability as a reserve tonight for Washington will be determined by how he feels in pre-game warm-ups, per an ESPN source. Washington will get a sense of how he feels after he throws in pre-game. https://t.co/7fn0YwtaVJ

Williams suffered a rib injury in the second quarter against Iowa and did not return to the sideline as he underwent imaging to determine the severity of the injury. On Monday, head coach Jedd Fisch declined to name Williams or Elijah Brown as the starting quarterback, but then said that it would be a long shot for Williams to play, and according to a report from ESPN's Pete Thamel, he could be available as a reserve. Brown, who completed 28 of 39 passes for 251 yards and 3 touchdowns in the second half last week, will get his first start in a Washington uniform after starting 4 games across the 2024 and 2025 seasons at Stanford.

Washington is out for the season after suffering a neck injury in spring practice. Fisch initially left room for optimism that the third-year back might be able to return this season, but scans in late September apparently indicated that Washington was not ready to return to play, as Fisch then referred to him as being out for the year.
WR Christian Moss - OUT
Fisch said Monday that Washington has begun the process of inquiring for a medical waiver for Moss, who suffered a quad injury on the first play of the season. That would imply that the sixth-year Kennesaw State transfer is out for the year, with Fisch referencing the fact that Moss' career would be cut short with one play in his last year if an extra season is not granted in his comments about it this week.
LB Xe'ree Alexander - OUT
Alexander suffered a high ankle sprain last week against Iowa and was seen on the sidelines in a walking boot and crutches during the fourth quarter. Fisch said this week that it sounded like Alexander would miss "substantial" time - high ankle sprains are generally four- to six-week injuries, which would leave the fourth-year linebacker with a potential return against Indiana on November 21 if we follow the longest timeline.
RB Jayden Limar - OUT
Limar will be re-evaluated on November 1 after suffering an elbow injury against Washington State. Despite only playing in one game, the fourth-year Oregon transfer is still the Huskies' fourth-leading rusher on the season, with 50 yards on 12 carries. Limar can return next season without any sort of waiver process because of this summer's NCAA rule change to allow five seasons of eligibility.
DT Kai McClendon - OUT
McClendon could be one of the players affected by the flu, as he popped up on the injury report earlier this week without another explanation. The Mississippi State transfer was out until late into fall practice while rehabbing a torn ACL, but has taken the fourth-most snaps at defensive tackle on the team this season. Fifth-year DeSean Watts and third-year Omar Khan are the next men up in that rotation.
RB Quaid Carr - OUT
Carr suffered a hand injury against Washington State and was initially due to be re-evaluated on November 1, but Fisch has recently changed his comments to suggest that the second-year back will be out for the season. The California native had earned lead back duties in the offseason and took 5 carries for 28 yards before going down.
RB Ansu Sanoe - OUT
With Sanoe out, Washington is down to only three healthy scholarship running backs - first-year Brian Bonner Jr., sixth-year Trey Cooley, and second-year D'Aryhian Clemons. Tight end/fullback Kade Eldridge and walk-on Ryken Moon will also be involved and are ahead of Clemons on the depth chart. Sanoe, a first-year back who has two touchdowns, both from the 1-yard line, this season, may be among the group of Huskies suffering from the flu.
G Jack Shaffer - OUT
Shaffer, a second-year guard, played the final 6 offensive snaps of the Eastern Washington game at left guard, where he is the third or fourth option now that Kolt Dieterich is playing more guard with Landen Hatchett back at center after a lengthy recovery from a wrist injury. Shaffer could have the flu as well.
S CJ Christian - OUT
Christian tore his Achilles during spring practice and is out for the season. Fisch was less optimistic about a medical waiver for his seventh-year safety when asked about it earlier in the year, so it's likely that Christian will end his Huskies career with only 10 snaps, all on special teams, before a turf toe injury ended his 2025 season as well.
CB Rahshawn Clark - ACTIVE
Clark got banged up against Iowa, but Fisch said Monday that the second-year nickelback would be good to go this week. He was listed as probable on Thursday and will allow Washington to play safeties Alex McLaughlin and Rylon Dillard-Allen closer to the line of scrimmage when Purdue puts two tight ends on the field.
WR Jordan Clay - ACTIVE
Clay is essentially the last man in the 15-player rotation on offense that Washington has employed this season, which includes six offensive linemen, Bonner and Cooley, tight ends Decker DeGraaf and Baron Naone, wide receivers Clay, Dezmen Roebuck, Chris Lawson, and Rashid Williams, and Demond Williams Jr. All of those players have 120 snaps or more on offense, while No. 16 Trez Davis has only 66 reps. Clay may have also been among the group dealing with the flu.
CB Jeron Jones - ACTIVE
Jones earned a co-starting job alongside Clark as a first-year player this offseason and has been a pleasant surprise in the Huskies secondary, which has had to shuffle personnel with Dylan Robinson, Emmanuel Karnley, and Jones all dealing with shorter-term injuries on and off throughout the season. He got hurt against USC, however, and missed the Iowa game with that undisclosed injury. His return will also allow defensive coordinator Ryan Walters to move Clark around more frequently.
EDGE Jacob Lane - ACTIVE
Lane went down during the fourth quarter of the Iowa game last week and stayed down on the field for a few minutes before leaving under his own power. Despite the scare, Fisch said Monday that it looked like his fourth-year pass rusher would be okay, and Lane was upgraded to probable on Thursday and will suit up against Purdue. He leads the Huskies with 12 pressures this season.
OT Justin Hylkema - ACTIVE
Hylkema played the final 6 offensive snaps against Eastern Washington at right tackle, where the third-year player is listed as the backup behind Drew Azzopardi. He may be among the group of Huskies dealing with the flu.
G Champ Taulealea - ACTIVE
Taulealea has rotated at right guard with seventh-year Geirean Hatchett, who has out-snapped his second-year teammate 270 to 198 so far this season (largely because Taulealea did not play against Utah State due to a coach's decision). He was made available to the media on Tuesday before appearing on the injury report, which would suggest that he is also one of the Huskies battling the flu. His rotation with Hatchett will likely continue on Friday.
