As No. 14 Iowa (5-1, 2-1 Big Ten) readies to meet Minnesota this weekend, fourth-year offensive lineman Kade Pieper was named to the Sporting News midseason All-America team.
Pieper was also named an Associated Press midseason first-team All-American last week, and has been selected to the Lombardi Award midseason watch list.
A key cog in Iowa's offensive line, the 6-foot-3, 298-pounder has helped the Hawkeyes' O-line be named to the Joe Moore Award Midseason Honor Roll. Pieper has started all six games at right guard this season, and has started 19 consecutive contests at guard, dating back to the start of last season.

A native of Norfolk, Neb., Pieper is part of an Iowa offense that is averaging 31 points per game, 403.2 yards of total offense, and 194 rushing yards per game. Iowa has surrendered just five sacks this season. Pieper has allowed zero sacks and only two pressures, per Pro Football Focus.
Other Big Ten stars joining Pieper on the list include Ohio State wide receiver Jeremiah Smith; Indiana offensive tackle Carter Smith; UCLA linebacker Sammy Omosigho and safety Tai'Shawn James; Washington safety Alex McLaughlin; and Minnesota kicker Luke Drzewiecki.
Pieper will look to continue his stellar 2026-27 campaign as Iowa faces Big Ten rival Minnesota in the battle for the Floyd of Rosedale Trophy on Saturday, Oct. 24 at Huntington Bank Stadium in Minneapolis, Minn. The game is scheduled to kick off at 2:30 p.m. CT and will be broadcast on FS1.
