The gold standard for group-friendly dining lifted by special touches.
No matter where you’re seated, a spectacle is guaranteed. Bar stools offer a front-row view of the open kitchen’s theatre, while the clean-lined dining room hums with cocktail-fuelled chatter most nights of the week.
The famed lobster roll, devoured in two buttery bites, sets a high bar, but this team has plenty more tricks. Yukhoe – Korea’s raw diced beef – is reimagined as thinly sliced grass-fed rump cap laced with garlicky gochujang vinaigrette. Crowned with golden quail yolk and pickled daikon, it’s scooped onto gem lettuce or sesame crackers for maximum effect.
Dumplings are deftly plated and hit the pass in an unwavering procession; a contrast to the laborious preparations behind the scenes. Beef short-rib is braised for eight hours before being shredded and stuffed into fluffy steamed buns, while lamb shoulder spends 12 hours bathing in a mouth-tingling mix of Sichuan peppercorns, cumin, black cardamom and other spices. Cool the tongue with kakigōri, the Japanese shaved ice dessert, fused with the flavours of creme caramel.
Must-order: New England lobster roll. There’s a reason it’s stuck around for 12 years.
