Spectrum Software & Consulting (Pvt.) Ltd. (SSCL) has become the first technology company from Bangladesh to be listed as a TradeTrust-Ready Partner, marking a significant milestone in the country’s transition towards trusted, interoperable and paperless international trade.
TradeTrust is a digital trade framework developed by Singapore’s Infocomm Media Development Authority (IMDA). It enables electronic trade documents to be securely issued, transferred and independently verified across different systems and jurisdictions.
SSCL’s recognition comes at a significant time for Bangladesh’s digital trade transformation. On July 1, 2026, Bangladesh Bank issued FEPD-1 Circular No. 15, introducing a pilot framework for the digital processing of trade documents under documentary collections and Letters of Credit (LCs) through approved trade corridors. The framework emphasizes interoperability, technology neutrality, independent verification, data privacy and the legal reliability of electronic trade documents.
The recognition builds on SSCL’s longstanding focus on banking and trade finance digitization. The company has developed solutions in trade finance, supply chain finance, artificial intelligence, document intelligence and enterprise automation. Its offerings include GreenLC, a digital trade platform, and SpectraTrade, an LC automation solution.
Before the latest regulatory initiative, SSCL had already developed an interoperable digital trade platform and engaged more than 10 leading Bangladeshi banks to explore the digitization of LC and trade-document processes. The initiative demonstrated the banking sector’s interest in digital trade while giving the company practical experience in addressing the technological, interoperability and institutional challenges of building a connected digital trade ecosystem.
The benefits of digital trade extend beyond replacing paper documents with electronic alternatives. Interoperable digital systems can reduce processing times and administrative costs, improve transparency and enable businesses and financial institutions to exchange trusted trade documents more efficiently across borders.
