The Ravens got a win in Atlanta last Sunday night, but it came despite a tough day for tight end Mark Andrews.
Andrews couldn’t hold onto a pass in the end zone early in the game and then lost a fumble later in the first quarter that the Falcons returned for a touchdown. He then had passes go off his hands on a third down and a two-point conversion in the second half of the game, but none of that dissuaded the Ravens from going his way on their overtime touchdown drive.
On Thursday, offensive coordinator Declan Doyle said they won’t have any impact on looking his way in the future either.
“I think it depends on the player,” Doyle said, via the team’s website. “Mark is somebody I feel like is very resilient. Regardless of what’s going on, I don’t feel like what’s happening right now is going to impact the next play. I don’t really have an issue going back to him. He embodies what it means to be a Raven, the way he works every day, the way he leads that group. We love Mark, we trust Mark.”
Andrews had another memorable drop on a two-point conversion in a playoff loss to the Bills after the 2024 season, but he’s remained a major part of the Ravens offense. Based on Doyle’s comments, that’s going to remain the case after Sunday’s struggles.
