MLA Pasang Dorjee Sona interacted with NCC cadets at Poma village on Tuesday during the Rising Sun Trek (NE Trek-I) and witnessed their enthusiasm, discipline and spirit of adventure.
The programme marked Survival Day, where cadets showcased practical skills including survival cooking using local resources, tent pitching and demonstration of knots and hitches. Traditional practices such as making plates from leaves were also demonstrated, highlighting indigenous knowledge and connection with nature.
Sona said such experiences go beyond routine training and help nurture self-reliance, resilience, teamwork and leadership among young cadets.
He appreciated the NCC cadets, instructors and the local community for making the programme meaningful.
