Composer Anirudh Ravichander to marry Kavya Maran; PM Narendra Modi, Tamil Nadu CM Joseph Vijay get reception invite from Kalanithi Maran

Sun Group chairman Kalanithi Maran on Friday (October 16, 2026) invited prominent political leaders to his daughter Kavya Maran's wedding reception. Kavya, co-owner of Sunrisers Hyderabad, will tie the knot with popular music composer Anirudh Ravichander. The development confirms earlier speculations of Kavya and Anirudh being in a relationship.

Maran, accompanied by his wife, called on Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy at Jubilee Hills, Hyderabad, to extend the invitation. Reddy's wife was also present on the occasion, an official release said.

The wedding reception of Kavya and Anirudh is set to take place in Chennai on November 21, 2026. Anirudh is currently basking in the success of his latest work, Jailer 2, starring Rajinikanth and directed by Nelson.

For the last couple of years, the couple had denied rumours about their relationship. In June 2025, Anirudh reacted to reports of his marriage with Kavya. Responding to the buzz around his marriage, the Jailer and Leo asked people to stop spreading the rumours.

However, on Saturday (October 17, 2026) Sun News made the wedding official. “The invitation to this event has been issued by MK Stalin, the family patriarch and DMK leader,” Sun News said in a post on X (formerly Twitter).

Maran, founder and chairman of Sun Group, also invited the Tamil Nadu CM Joseph Vijay and Prime Minister Narendra Modi to the wedding reception. Reports say Kavya and Anirudh are set to get married in a ceremony in Greece on November 11.
