Pakistani filmmaker Kamran Faiq’s short film The Last Glance officially qualified for the 2027 Academy Awards longlist. The acclaimed project earned its Oscar eligibility after winning the prestigious Jury Award for Best Short at the 21st Tasveer Film Festival. Held in Seattle from October 13 to 18, Tasveer selected the production as its sole qualifying entry for the Oscars. Faiq confirmed that out of thousands of global submissions, only around two hundred short films qualify for the longlist.
