The New York Giants and Washington Commanders finished their Week 5 matchup with a 27-27 tie.
Both teams made costly mistakes in overtime while well within field-goal range. First, Giants running back Cam Skattebo coughed up a fumble while fighting for extra yardage in Washington territory. Then, Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels made an ill-advised scramble with no timeouts remaining.
Instead of spiking the ball or throwing it out of bounds, Daniels went down in the middle of the field as the clock ran out on the 10-minute overtime period.
Former Pittsburgh Steelers coach turned "Sunday Night Football" analyst Mike Tomlin didn't hold back when talking about this "disgusting" finish.
“I describe it as disgusting. Division wins are too precious in the National Football League. I was disgusted by the Skattebo fumble. I threw up in my mouth a little bit at the end of the game," Tomlin said.
Despite this disappointing tie, the Giants still sit atop the NFC East with a 3-1-1 record. The Commanders are at the bottom of the division at 1-3-1.

The Giants now turn their attention toward a Week 6 matchup against the New Orleans Saints. The Commanders will face off against the San Francisco 49ers this coming Monday.
