DAEGU — The city of Daegu said on the 16th that it will run a "Daegu-EU Data Space Joint Pavilion" at the Future Innovation Technology Expo (FIX), which opens on the 21st at EXCO, to help local data companies expand overseas.
The pavilion builds on a global network the city has developed since the 2024 Hannover Messe industrial fair in Germany, aiming to introduce the technologies and services of local data companies at home and abroad and to broaden their business opportunities.
Six data companies will take part, including Isgis, a KOSDAQ-listed firm, along with Korea OSG, BigWave AI, Shincerix, J Solution and Specia I.
The companies will showcase technologies and use cases across a range of data-driven fields, including digital twins, the use of manufacturing data and quality optimization, improvement of artificial intelligence models based on synthetic data, and AI-based predictive maintenance.
During FIX, the pavilion is scheduled to host visits from NMSH, a mobility innovation specialist based in Hamburg, Germany, as well as the National Artificial Intelligence Strategy Committee and Gaia-X Hub Korea.
They will explore opportunities for cooperation in Korea and overseas, focusing on the global interoperability of data spaces — which securely connect data across companies and industries to create new value and business — along with the use of urban and mobility data and the safe sharing and trading of data.
"Through the joint pavilion, we will actively support local data companies in finding partners at home and abroad, broadening opportunities for technology demonstration and commercialization, and securing competitiveness in overseas markets," said Kim Tae-woon, head of Daegu's AI Innovation and Growth Office.
