‎Container shops to help consumer prices decrease

In order to sell livestock products directly to consumers at markets, shipping containers will be used as shops, in an effort to help reducing consumer prices.

For the implementation of the plan, Yangon City Development Committee’s secretary U Cho Tun Aung and department heads conducted a field investigation on 12 October in the markets which are under the management of YCDC.

The officials visited Ga-gyi market and Yadana Theingi market in North Okkalapa Township, Kaytumadi market in Dagon Myothit (South) Township and Sanpya Ngamoeyeik market in Thingangyun Township where container shops have been arranged for selling basic foods such as meat, eggs, rice and cooking oil.

Officials also instructed to ensure cleanliness of the environment and good drainage system of markets.

After that, they visited Dagon Myothit (East) Township and Dagon Myothit (North) Township where drains and roadside clearing works are being carried out.
