Sheffield United managed to see out a 1-0 win against Bristol City at Ashton Gate on Saturday afternoon in the EFL Championship.
The visitors took the lead inside the opening 10 minutes through an Oliver Arblaster volley from the edge of the box, which was a goal worthy of winning any match.

First Half
The home side had an early opportunity to take the lead through Yu Hirakawa, but the winger was unable to make the most of his opening. United quickly capitalised, with Arblaster pouncing on Gibson Yah’s clearance before unleashing a volley from outside the penalty area that found the back of the net.
City were left frustrated shortly afterwards when Hirakawa went down inside the box while driving towards goal. The hosts appealed for a penalty in the 12th minute, but their protests were dismissed by the referee.
Chris Wilder’s side gradually grew into the contest, enjoying more of the ball and beginning to threaten in the attacking third. Tahith Chong delivered a dangerous cross into the area, where McGuinness rose to challenge, before Liam Kitching saw his subsequent effort take a deflection and drift narrowly wide of the far post.
The Blades continued to apply pressure. Kalvin Phillips sent a delivery into a crowded penalty area, causing problems for the home defence, but Kitching was once again denied as his attempt was cleared away from danger.
Second Half
Sheffield United were forced to rely on some determined defending on 65 minutes when a scramble inside the penalty area ended with substitute Jed Wallace getting a shot away. Harrison Burrows threw himself into the effort to produce an important block and keep the one-goal lead.
The resulting corner presented the home team with another opportunity. Rio Cardines delivered into the danger area, but Dom Ballard could only direct his header over the crossbar from close range at the near post.
United continued searching for a second goal to ice the game and almost found one in the 76th minute. Brereton Diaz whipped a cross into the box, which Japhet Tanganga met at the far post, but Sam Tickle reacted superbly to get down to his right and keep the effort out.
The Blades’ late pressure continued. Donovan’s cross found Cannon inside the penalty area, but his attempt was blocked, allowing the ball to fall invitingly to Ryan Oné who blazed one over the bar.
