Melissa Granum has been elected the new mayor of the City of Delta, defeating incumbent George Harvie and city councillor Dylan Kreuger.
Harvie was first elected in 2018.
Running under the Delta First banner, Granum ran on a campaign of listening to the community.
“We will restore trust in City Council, protect what makes Delta special, and create new opportunities for generations to come. I invite you to read our plan and join us in building a stronger future for Delta,” Delta First notes on the campaign website.
Some other promises from Delta First and Granum as leader include accountable government through restoring trust in Delta City Council.
The platform also promises to “preserve what makes Delta unique by working with residents, businesses, agriculture, first responders and others to ensure growth is carefully planned, responsible, and supported by the community.”
You can read the plan for the first 90 days on the Delta First website.
