Minister for Energy Resources and Law C. T. R. Nirmal Kumar criticised the presence of BJP chief Nainar Nagenthran at a Union government event in Chennai.
During a press meet here on Sunday, he questioned the protocol under which Mr. Nainar Nagenthran was seated despite not being an MLA or MP.
Calling it a ‘wrong precedent”, he said government programmes should not be used to promote party functionaries.
“It is not clear under what protocol he was seated at the government event. No one should participate in government programmes without an appropriate protocol, whether an MLA or an MP,” Mr. Nirmal Kumar said.
