“Croatian citizens are strongly advised to postpone all non-essential travel to the Republic of Serbia. In the event of essential travel, they should proceed with increased caution, regularly monitor the current security situation, and stay fully informed about potential risks before departure,” the latest travel advisory states.
Croatian citizens currently in the Republic of Serbia are advised to exercise heightened caution and avoid potentially risky areas and situations.
According to the Ministry’s website, particular caution is recommended in light of recorded instances of inappropriate and unfounded actions by Republic of Serbia authorities toward Croatian citizens, as well as the upcoming political developments.
The Ministry reminded Croatian citizens that parliamentary elections will be held in Serbia on Sunday, October 25, warning that the days leading up to, during, and after the elections may be marked by increased political tensions and other events that could impact the security situation.
Additionally, they are advised to avoid public gatherings, protests, political rallies, and areas where large crowds gather, and are reminded that they have the right to contact the Croatian Embassy in Serbia if needed.
