Taxi operators who fail to submit the required documents by November 10 risk losing their interim fare permits when the extension expires in March next year.
The Fiji Taxi Association has expressed concern over the low turnout at a today’s meeting on fare adjustments, warning that operators could jeopardise their chances of securing permanent fare permits.
The association says it is helping drivers understand the requirements and prepare the necessary documents for their applications.
Taxi operators have been granted a six-month extension of their interim fare permits, despite the association initially requesting only three months.

The association is urging operators to work with it and the relevant authorities to submit their tax records and other required documents before the deadline.
It says rising fuel prices could place further pressure on the industry, making it important for operators to complete their applications on time.
The Fiji Competition and Consumer Commission, which also attended the meeting, stressed the need for comprehensive submissions as part of the permit review process.
The FCCC states it is now waiting for operators to submit their documents.
