The Director-General of the All Progressives Congress Presidential Campaign Council, Abdullaziz Yari, has directed the council’s directorates to develop and submit work plans outlining how they intend to execute their responsibilities ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Yari disclosed this while addressing journalists after the first inaugural meeting of the directorates at the Presidential Campaign Office in the Central Business District, Abuja, on Tuesday.
He said members of the directorates had been entrusted with responsibilities by President Bola Tinubu and must ensure they delivered on their assignments, stressing that they were expected to justify the confidence reposed in them.
He stated, “This meeting is a short one. What we did was direct the directorates to go and work to come up with their work plans and determine how best they are going to carry out this responsibility. We reminded them that we are all here on trust. Each and every person who sits under this roof is a trustee of the President. The President trusted us and gave us this responsibility. We must carry it out well and very, very well.
“We are still engaging with traditional rulers. As I said, we are visiting the royal fathers because we just seek their blessings. We need their prayers. And being the authority closest to the masses of the country, we need to go and explain to them where we are and where we want to go.
“So, the next stop is Kaduna on October 24, 2026. And then, from there, the journey continues until January 16, 2027. At the end, by God’s grace, you know the result.”
Before this, Yari and other members of the APC PCC visited the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, and the Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, on Sunday.
He also consulted the emirs of Gwandu, Katsina, Daura and Zaria as part of efforts to mobilise support for President Bola Tinubu’s re-election bid in the 2027 general elections.
Accompanied by other party leaders, Yari has visited religious and traditional leaders across the country to seek their support for Tinubu’s second-term ambition.
