- Sifuna disclosed the meeting in a post on X describing Maina and Murango as key figures in efforts to bring political leaders together around a common agenda
Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna has held a meeting with Kirinyaga Woman Representative Njeri Maina and Senator Kamau Murango to discuss national unity and efforts to consolidate the opposition ahead of the 2027 General Election.
Sifuna disclosed the meeting in a post on X,describing Maina and Murango as key figures in efforts to bring political leaders together around a common agenda.
“Kirinyaga Woman Representative Njeri Maina and Senator Kamau Murango are solid people. But you already knew that. They stopped by the office today to share thoughts on what we must do to unite the country and especially the opposition, for us to return our nation to democratic governance in 2027. Mbele kuzuri," Sifuna wrote.
The meeting comes amid growing calls for opposition leaders to put aside individual political ambitions and agree on a common strategy to challenge President William Ruto in the next General Election.
Maina has previously urged opposition figures, including Sifuna, Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka and Eugene Wamalwa, to unite behind a single presidential candidate.
“The Kenyan citizens have spoken. They want us to stop infighting. Our enemy is common, and all we want is one candidate to face him in 2027,” Maina said during a recent political rally.
The participation of Murango, who has also voiced support for cooperation among opposition figures, adds to ongoing engagements among leaders seeking to strengthen political collaboration ahead of the polls.
Sifuna’s post signals continued engagement among opposition leaders as they explore ways to build consensus ahead of the next General Election.
