Baldivis, Kwinana and Rockingham will be first in WA to benefit from Australian-first drone technology for emergency response.
Cutting-edge drone technology known as DFR X will be deployed by WA police to gather “real-time intelligence” before officers arrive at the scene of an emergency.
WA Police and Emergency Services Minister Reece Whitby unveiled the Australian-first drone technology at the weekend, and explained the drones could be dispatched remotely from a command centre in Perth’s CBD.
“This is about giving our police an invaluable tool — the ability to have eyes on the scene much sooner,” Whitby said.
“It improves safety for our officers in blue on the front line.”
