Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye decreased by around 4.52% on Saturday compared to the previous day, totaling 899,948 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) released on Sunday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 42,234 megawatt-hours at 8 p.m. local time (1700 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country’s electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 31,751 megawatt-hours at 5 a.m. local time (0200 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 913,005 megawatt-hours on Saturday, marking a decrease of about 3.9% compared to the previous day.
Electricity production from imported coal accounted for around 20.9% of total generation, while dam-based hydro plants and solar contributed 19% and 17.4%, respectively.
On Saturday, the country’s electricity exports totaled 13,068 megawatt-hours, while imports amounted to 179 megawatt-hours.
