Three men on a motorcycle fired three rounds at actor Tiger Shroff’s BMW near Pushpa Park in Mumbai’s Juhu on Sunday evening, as he left a football ground. Shroff was unhurt, but his driver and a bystander were injured. Mumbai Police have detained one person for questioning.
Deputy commissioner of police Mohit Garg confirmed that the actor was safe, and Shroff’s team said he was doing well. The driver was rushed to Nanavati Hospital for treatment.
Shocking visuals of the incident have surfaced on social media. Watch here:
The person in custody was picked up from Santacruz. Police have not disclosed what role the individual is believed to have played. The area was cordoned off, and 15 teams were reportedly formed to trace the attackers.
Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis directed Mumbai Police to take strict action, while cultural affairs minister Ashish Shelar spoke to the Shroff family after the incident.
Meanwhile, a social media post and an audio clip have been circulating in which a man identifying himself as Anil Pandit claimed links to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. He allegedly said Shroff was on the gang’s hit list for ignoring its directions and working with Salman Khan. Pandit and Harman Sandhu, described as overseas-based gangsters, were also reported to have claimed responsibility in a post attributed to the Bishnoi group.
