KUALA LUMPUR: Pearly Tan-M. Thinaah received another timely boost after climbing back into the world's top four in the latest Badminton World Federation (BWF) rankings released today.
Fresh from ending Malaysia's 18-year wait for a women's doubles title at the Denmark Open on Sunday, the pair rose one spot to world No. 4 — their highest position since June.
The improvement is an encouraging sign for Pearly-Thinaah, who were ranked world No. 2 in early June before slipping to fifth, a position they had occupied for more than four months.
Their return to the top four comes after they defeated Japan's Hinata Suzuki-Nao Yamakita 21-18, 21-11 in the Denmark Open final to claim their first title since January.

Seeded second in Paris, Pearly-Thinaah will be hoping for another memorable campaign at the tournament where they captured their breakthrough Super 750 title in 2022.
