Rain brings colder weather to Punjab, more showers and hail forecast
Rainfall in several parts of Punjab, following showers in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, has intensified the cold weather, while the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast further rain and possible hailstorms in Islamabad and other northern parts of the country.
According to the Met Office, heavy rain lashed Narowal, Shakargarh, Kartarpur, Noorkot and adjoining areas, resulting in a noticeable drop in temperatures.
Meanwhile, overcast conditions prevailed in Islamabad from the morning, with light rain reported in parts of the federal capital.
The PMD said a westerly weather system was affecting the country’s upper regions, bringing the possibility of further rain accompanied by strong winds in Islamabad and its surrounding areas.
The department also warned that hailstorms could occur at isolated locations.
Scattered rain has been forecast for upper Punjab, Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan during the day, with hailstorms likely at a few places.
Most other parts of the country are expected to experience dry weather, according to the Met Office.
