KUALA TERENGGANU: Civil servants working in states affected by the transboundary haze may carry out their duties under the Hybrid Working Day (HBH) policy.
Public Service Department director-general Tan Sri Dr Wan Ahmad Dahlan Abdul Aziz said the haze problem coincided with the government's introduction of the HBH policy, which came into effect on Aug 1.
He said department heads, particularly in states affected by haze, were allowed to implement the HBH arrangement.
"Department heads must set key performance indicators (KPIs) to ensure civil servants' productivity remains a priority even when they work from home under the hybrid arrangement," he said.
Earlier, Wan Ahmad Dahlan conducted a Retiree Outreach Programme, visiting and spending time with three retirees here.
Also present was state Federal Development Department director, Datuk Abdul Kahar Abdul Latif.
Under the HBH arrangement, civil servants work physically in the office for three days a week, while the remaining two days are spent working from home or at an approved alternative location.
Wan Ahmad Dahlan called on all civil servants, particularly those serving in haze-affected states, to wear face masks to protect themselves against haze-related health risks.
