The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has intensified its nationwide monitoring efforts to improve mobile network coverage, call quality, and internet services. The regulator has directed telecom operators to address identified service issues within the specified deadlines.
According to an official statement issued on October 16, 2026, PTA conducted several monitoring and service improvement activities through its 10 Zonal Offices between October 8 and 14.
The latest initiative is part of the authority’s ongoing efforts to improve network performance and address connectivity problems faced by telecom consumers across Pakistan.
PTA Conducts Telecom Network Monitoring Across Pakistan
During the monitoring period, PTA’s zonal teams visited different areas of Thatta, Dera Ghazi Khan, Mandi Bahauddin, Quetta, Faisalabad, and Gilgit-Baltistan to assess the quality of telecom services.
The monitoring activities focused on identifying issues related to mobile network coverage, voice call quality, and internet connectivity. Following these assessments, PTA directed the concerned telecom operators to resolve the identified problems within the stipulated timeframe.
One of the notable developments was the successful resolution of a telecom site closure issue in Faisalabad. However, the authority did not disclose the reasons behind the closure or identify the telecom operator involved.
PTA conducted these activities in coordination with relevant stakeholders and local administrations to address service deficiencies affecting consumers.
The authority did not provide details regarding the total number of telecom sites inspected, specific network performance measurements, or any penalties imposed on operators during the monitoring period.
PTA Directs Operators to Ensure Better Telecom Services
PTA has reiterated its commitment to improving telecom services through continued monitoring, regulatory oversight, and coordination with mobile network operators.
The regulator is working closely with relevant organizations and local administrations to ensure that issues affecting network coverage, voice quality, and internet services are addressed promptly.
While these monitoring activities demonstrate PTA’s continued focus on telecom service quality, their actual impact will depend on how effectively operators resolve the identified problems.
Reliable mobile networks and internet connectivity remain essential for millions of Pakistanis who depend on telecom services for communication, education, business activities, and digital transactions.
PTA has maintained that it will continue its nationwide monitoring and service improvement efforts to ensure better and more reliable telecom services for consumers across the country.
