The court ordered the sentence to run from the date of his arrest on Oct 18.
According to the charge, Fairus, who has three children, committed criminal intimidation against his 37-year-old wife using a parang at a house in Senggarang here about 8.30am on Oct 18.
He was charged under Section 506 of the Penal Code, which provides for a jail term of up to seven years, a fine, or both, upon conviction.
