Kebbi State Governor, Comrade Nasir Idris, last weekend donated the sum of ₦100 million to internally displaced persons (IDPs) affected by bandits’ attacks in Danko Wasagu Local Government Area of the state, as he pledged ₦10 million monthly to support community-based security efforts.
The governor disclosed this when he paid a sympathy visit to the Chief of Wasagu Chiefdom following recent bandit attacks in the area.
He also pledged to establish a Forward Operating Base (FOB) to strengthen security operations, improve response time and prevent further attacks in Wasagu and neighbouring communities.
Governor Idris further promised to rehabilitate the Danko Wasagu township road to improve accessibility, facilitate security operations and boost economic activities.

He assured residents that his administration would continue to collaborate with security agencies, traditional rulers and community leaders to tackle insecurity and restore peace.
Earlier, the Commissioner for Internal Security, Haliru Aliyu Wasagu, commended the governor for providing logistical and operational support to security agencies.
He said insecurity had forced some farmers to abandon their farmlands and disrupted economic and social activities in affected communities.
The Chief of Wasagu, Muktar Musa, and the Chairman of Danko Wasagu Local Government Area, Hussaini Aliyu Bena, welcomed the interventions and called for sustained security operations, humanitarian assistance and road rehabilitation to enable displaced residents to return home and continue with their farming activities.
