HONG KONG: Martial arts legend Sammo Hung has officially severed professional ties with his former representative, Mable Chan.
In a statement shared on Instagram by his son, actor Timmy Hung, the 74-year-old star revealed that their business relationship ended on April 1 this year.
Hung said that Chan is no longer authorised to negotiate work arrangements, make commitments, or sign contracts and official documents on his behalf.
He also made it clear that he will not be held responsible for any unauthorised agreements made in his name.
"Should Ms Chan have previously made any commitments or engaged in any unlawful acts using my name without my consent or authorisation, I will not accept or be held responsible for such actions," the statement read.
"Should she continue to make any commitments or enter into any agreements unlawfully in my name, I expressly reject and disclaim all responsibility for such commitments and agreements."
Hung did not disclose the reason behind the split.
But he advised individuals and companies interested in future collaborations to contact Elaine Chu Suk Yee, whose details were provided in the post.
He concluded by thanking fans and industry partners for their continued support, whilst apologising for any inconvenience caused.
