The Los Angeles Rams have received an encouraging update on Puka Nacua ahead of Sunday's matchup with the Las Vegas Raiders.
The star wide receiver remains questionable with a calf injury, but the latest report has raised optimism about his availability.

ESPN's Adam Schefter reported that the Rams expect Nacua to have a chance to play, provided he avoids another setback.
"Rams are optimistic that WR Puka Nacua, who is questionable for Sunday’s game due to a calf injury, will play vs. the Raiders. Nacua was feeling better Saturday and, as one source said, 'as long as there aren’t any setbacks, we feel good about him being available to play.'"
The update is important for Los Angeles, which is already without Davante Adams. The veteran receiver was placed on injured reserve after suffering a ruptured hamstring and is expected to miss six to 10 weeks. That leaves Nacua as an even more important part of the passing game.
Nacua picked up the calf injury during Thursday's practice and did not participate in Friday's session. Head coach Sean McVay described the issue as minor, but said the receiver would be a game-time decision.
He has recorded 37 receptions for 417 yards and one touchdown in four games this season. He also missed two games earlier in the campaign because of a hip and groin injury, making the Rams' cautious approach understandable.
If Nacua cannot play, Los Angeles will need more from its remaining receivers, including Tutu Atwell, Jordan Whittington and Konata Mumpfield.
For now, the signs are encouraging, but Nacua's status is not confirmed.
