Kathmandu, October 25
People who left Kathmandu Valley to celebrate Dashain with their families are continuing to return as the festive holiday draws to a close.
The number of passengers entering the valley has increased ahead of the resumption of regular government office operations from Monday, following the end of the Dashain holiday.
Heavy movement of passengers and vehicles has been observed at major entry points and transport hubs, including Nagdhunga, Kalanki, Balaju, Koteshwor and Balkhu. The New Bus Park area has also seen a rise in the number of vehicles and returning passengers.
Kathmandu Valley had become relatively quiet during Dashain as many residents travelled to their hometowns and villages to celebrate the festival with their families.
With people returning and daily activities gradually resuming, traffic and public transport services are becoming busier across the valley. Most shops and businesses have also reopened, bringing activity back to the streets and commercial areas.
