PUTRAJAYA: A book titled Anwar Ibrahim: A Life Recorded (Anwar Ibrahim: Kisah yang Dirakam), chronicling the life, struggles and leadership journey of Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, will be launched in March next year.
Published by the Malaysian Care and Concern for Humanity Organisation (Malaysia Peduli) in Bahasa Melayu and English, the book features photographs, archival materials, documents and historical records relating to the Prime Minister.
The pre-launch ceremony for the coffee table book was officiated by the Finance Minister's political secretary, Muhammad Kamil Abdul Munim, here today. Also present was Malaysia Peduli chairman Noor Sham @ Ann Abu Samah.
Speaking to reporters, Muhammad Kamil said the book was important in helping younger generations understand the Prime Minister's life journey.
"I think it is very important, particularly for the younger generation, to understand the history of the Prime Minister's struggles and journey.
"These experiences have been documented in a book so that it can serve as a guide and lesson, and perhaps also as a source of reflection for society," he said.
The book traces key moments that have shaped the Prime Minister's journey, from his early years and the ideals underpinning his struggles through various challenges and changes, to his responsibilities as the country's leader and Malaysia's role on the international stage.
The publication brings together a visual record of a journey intertwined with Malaysia's social, political and historical developments.
The book was made possible through the support and cooperation of various parties, which provided guidance, access to resources, expertise and other assistance, including the National Archives of Malaysia and the Information Department of Malaysia.
