South Korea’s LG Electronics has introduced the Multi V 7 air-to-air heat pump system based on variable refrigerant flow (VRF) technology for commercial buildings. The system features dual artificial intelligence and a newly developed compressor designed to improve energy efficiency and heating and cooling performance.
LG Electronics, a unit of South Korea’s LG Corp, has unveiled the Multi V 7, a new variable refrigerant flow (VRF) air-to-air heat pump system for commercial heating and cooling applications.
The system, presented at the Harfko 2026 HVAC exhibition in Goyang, South Korea, combines on-device and cloud-based artificial intelligence (AI) to optimize operation according to installation conditions, user behavior and changes in the surrounding environment.
According to LG, the on-device AI continuously analyzes operating conditions and usage patterns in real time, while the cloud-based AI provides additional analysis to optimize system performance and reliability.
The Multi V 7 also features an AI Smart Care function that evaluates different operating scenarios and selects operating strategies designed to balance thermal comfort and energy efficiency. Additional functions include adaptive noise control and AI-based fault prediction and diagnostics.
The system incorporates LG’s newly developed Spin X compressor, which features a redesigned internal structure, a two-way oil supply system and real-time oil condition monitoring.
LG said the compressor technology is designed to improve heating and cooling performance, energy efficiency and operational stability compared with previous designs, without providing further details.
The manufacturer has not disclosed the system’s rated heating and cooling capacities, coefficient of performance (COP), seasonal efficiency ratings, refrigerant type or operating temperature range.
Pricing and commercial availability have also not been announced.
