Securing a GP appointment or getting an X-ray close to home could soon become a little bit easier for Landsdale locals, with plans for a new medical centre with radiology services and a pharmacy being proposed.
A development application has been lodged with the City of Wanneroo to build the single-storey 975sqm centre just off Gnangara Road, near Priest Road.
The medical centre and pharmacy are proposed to operate seven days a week, from 8am to 7pm, with radiology services available weekdays from 8am to 5pm.
A total of 59 parking bays would be provided, with a two-way crossover connecting the site to Pollino Gardens.

According to a planning application, the developers believe the proposal is consistent with the existing and anticipated types of development in the area in terms of bulk, scale and built form and it “will not compromise the existing character, amenity or compatibility of land usage in the immediate locality”.
“The medical centre and pharmacy on the subject will provide a much-needed service within the immediate locality and will have significant benefits to the local community,” the application states.
“(The centre) will foster development of the Landsdale area and will provide ... employment opportunities and provide for the efficient use of underutilised land.
“Furthermore, there is sufficient parking available on the subject land to service the demand likely to be generated by the proposed development.”
The site has been slated for development for several years, with its native vegetation cleared in 2019.
In June 2021, the State Planning Commission approved plans for a childcare centre and medical centre on the site, featuring a large, two-storey building with an undercroft level.
However, that development never went ahead and last October the City of Wanneroo approved changing the proposed uses on the site to include a medical centre, pharmacy and cafe.
Public consultation on the plans is now open and closes on October 27.
The application will be determined by the City of Wanneroo’s administration team.
