Hello and welcome to Bulgaria Today, the English-language podcast of Radio Bulgaria, on October 15, hosted by Rositsa Petkova.
Today, we begin with security in the Black Sea, as Bulgaria and Romania seek to put the issue firmly on the European Union’s agenda amid growing concerns over drone attacks on commercial vessels. We’ll also hear about Bulgaria’s plans to strengthen its air defences and the government’s proposal to raise the minimum wage next year.
Later in the programme, we’ll explore how technology and innovation can help address today’s defence challenges, as Sofia prepares to host for the first time the international defence technology hackathon, bringing together students, engineers, and military personnel.
And to round off the edition, we’ll enjoy contemporary Bulgarian jazz, with music by bassist and composer Petar Slavov Jr., performed by the Bulgarian National Radio Big Band.
