Vans Sparkly Old Skool 36 Is the Gift That Keeps on Serving

It might be a little early to start thinking about New Year's Eve, or the holidays in general for that matter. But if you're an early planner, a sequins enthusiast or a general thrash truther, Vans has got something special for you this holiday season and beyond.

"Meet The Vans," is a collection of festive shredders designed for the holiday season.

The lineup includes Vans classics like the Sk8-Hi and the Half-Cab, both with decidedly rugged upgrades and sturdy GORE-TEX insulations. After all, these are winter-focused shoes.

The real star of this holiday extravaganza, though, is the blinged-out Premium Old Skool 36 that pairs festive winter plaid with shiny silver sequins, the ultimate holiday care package.

Milk and cookies for Santa, sparkly skateboard sneakers for everyone else.

Silver sparkles take over the top of the shoe, including the eyestay and the laces themselves. The brand's established fondness for Chanel-inspired happenings unfurls in the form of white and gray tweed everywhere else. Vans' signature hallmarks like the Jazz Stripe and waffle outsole are accounted for too. What's Christmas without the classics?

One thing that remains clear throughout the entire collection, which also includes fur-lined slip-ons and sequined renditions of the lace-free shoe, is that Vans is gunning for a spot on the holiday card hall of fame. And I'd say the odds are in its favor.
