The NFL seemingly cleared the Eagles of any rule violations in their handling of Jalen Hurts' blood clot diagnosis, with The Athletic reporting Tuesday that the league found no reason for discipline for Philadelphia's handling of the injury report or the decision to play Hurts after he was found to have a superficial blood clot in his calf.
Both NFL chief medical officer Alan Sills and executive vice president Jeff Miller defended the Eagles, with Sills calling reports that Hurts stayed awake for 36 hours so he could play against the Jaguars "nonsense."
While that report was refuted — Hurts did play against the Jaguars but reportedly slept before the game after a hospital visit kept him awake — the NFL Players Association is still looking for answers.

NFLPA demands investigation into Jalen Hurts situation
The NFL Players Association released a statement Tuesday night bemoaning the NFL's lack of investigation into the Eagles' handling of Hurts' blood clot situation.
"Before conclusions are drawn about how this situation was handled, there must be a full investigation into what occurred," the NFLPA said. "Determining the facts is essential to to ensuring players receive the highest level of care and protection going forward."

The NFL confirmed earlier Tuesday that it wouldn't discipline the Eagles for both the decision to play Hurts after a superficial blood clot was found in his calf or for not listing Hurts with an game designation on the injury report before the London game against the Jaguars.
The Eagles received backlash after a report indicated Hurts had to stay awake for 36 hours just to play in the game, but reports have subsequently refuted that suggestion, instead claiming Hurts slept before the game after a hospital visit for tests on his calf kept him awake longer than his teammates.
NFL EVP Jeff Miller called the original reporting "uninformed as he and chief medical officer Alan Sills pushed back on the idea Hurts was mistreated.
Hurts was ruled out for the season on Monday after multiple blood clots were found in his lungs; he is expected to be treated with blood thinners for three months.
