Ukrainian Defense Forces have struck a strategic railway bridge inside Russia’s Bryansk region, alongside multiple military logistics depots and a drone command post across occupied Donetsk region.
According to an official dispatch released by the General Staff, precision strikes were conducted throughout Friday, Oct. 16, and overnight into Saturday morning, targeting logistical nodes that sustain Russian military formations.

Inside Russia, Ukrainian fire engaged a railway bridge spanning the Unecha River near the settlement of Sloboda-Seletska in the Bryansk region.
Ukrainian defense planners noted that severing or degrading the crossing is engineered to disrupt Russian military rail transport, specifically interdicting shipments of ammunition, petroleum products, and heavy combat vehicles toward frontline formations.
“Damage was recorded to a railway bridge across the Unecha River in the area of Sloboda-Seletska, Bryansk region of the Russian Federation,” the General Staff announced.
“This will complicate rail logistics for Russian forces, in particular the supply of ammunition, fuel, and military equipment.”
Depots and drone control posts hit in occupied Donetsk region
Simultaneously, Ukrainian precision units targeted rear logistics hubs and unmanned aviation command installations across Russian-occupied sectors of the Donetsk region.
Military authorities confirmed direct impacts on Russian material and technical supply warehouses in the areas of Novoandriivka, Mykilske, and the port city of Mariupol.

The destruction of concentrated storage depots restricts frontline Russian tactical groups from rapidly replenishing ammunition, vehicular parts, and fuel reserves along contested southern and eastern sectors.
In the vicinity of Malynivka in the Donetsk region, Ukrainian fire struck an active Russian unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) command and control post, suppressing enemy drone reconnaissance and strike coordination.
The General Staff emphasized that systematic interdiction of transport arteries, supply bases, and drone command centers forms part of a sustained campaign to degrade the combat potential and logistical stamina of Russian forces.
Asymmetric interdiction of supply corridors
The strikes across the Bryansk and Donetsk regions follow an expanding Ukrainian operational effort to dismantle critical transport bridges and chokepoints linking Russian staging bases with occupied Ukrainian territory.
In late September, Ukrainian strikes damaged the Chonhar road bridge linking occupied Crimea with Russian-held sectors of the Kherson region. Independent open-source satellite intelligence published by Dnipro OSINT showed that consecutive precision strikes blasted large craters into the roadway before causing a full bridge span to collapse by Sept. 30.
The collapse of the Chonhar span severely constrained Russian vehicular transport between the Crimean peninsula and occupied southern Ukraine, forcing Russian military logistics units onto longer, more vulnerable detours along the Sea of Azov coastal corridor.
