An anganwadi worker died in Namakkal and her relatives staged a road roko demanding action against a clinic on Saturday (October 17, 2026).
The deceased, Nathiya (40), a resident of Madhapuram near Pallipalayam, was working in an anganwadi centre. A few months ago, she was treated for fever at a private clinic in Avarankadu, where an injection was allegedly administered to her.
Later, due to an allergic reaction, she became sick, and on Friday night (October 16, 2026), she died. Claiming that the injection was the cause of her death, her relatives staged a road roko at Pallipalayam Junction near the bus stand. The police held talks with them and assured them that they would take action on their demand. Based on this, they withdrew their protest after three hours.
