The Issue: A Nobel Peace Prize for Navi Pillay, an ex-UN functionary who accuses Israel of genocide.
Anyone worried about the worldwide rise of antisemitism need look no further than the Nobel Peace Prize honoree to confirm their fears (“A Nobel Prize for . . . Antisemitism,” Editorial, Oct. 10).
What is so worrisome is not Navanethem Pillay being “honored,” but the message it sends: that it is honorable to paint Israel and Jews as purveyors of apartheid and genocide, which provides the excuse antisemites need to seek “river to the sea” destruction of Israel.
One wonders where Adolf Hitler would rank in the committee’s Orwellian voting.

Norwegians awarding the Peace Prize to Pillay is consistent with their treatment of Jews during World War II: Many Norwegian officials aided the Germans in rounding up approximately 770 Jews; only about 30 survived.
Despite seeing what happened during the Holocaust and on Oct. 7, nothing has changed for the Norwegians.

The Peace Prize going to an antisemitic UN hack underscores how corrupt the United Nations is. Despite America’s central role in its founding, we should no longer support it.
The organization has begged for our support only to back political scum from foreign lands. Turn the beautiful building into an upscale apartment tower and send the proceeds of the sale to the Treasury.

Awarding this once-prestigious prize to Pillay proves the Nobel committee has lost any moral compass it once had.
Pillay was instrumental in pushing UN approval of claims that Israel committed genocide. This accusation is false and has resulted in a rise of antisemitism and violent attacks on Jews worldwide. Shame on the committee for its complicity.

Pillay’s credentials include chairing a UN committee that concluded Israel has committed genocide in Gaza.
Has the definition of genocide changed? Israel has issued evacuation warnings to civilians in areas where attacks on Hamas are imminent. Can Pillay argue with a straight face that a country intending to annihilate a group would issue such a warning?
How does she propose a country attack its sworn enemy — which places its weapons and military facilities in schools, hospitals and mosques — without the potential for civilian casualties?

The Issue: Actress Selma Blair is accused of attacking two flight attendants and trying to open the aircraft door.
This is the second time Selma Blair has put innocent airline passengers in danger (“Chomplete meltdown by Blair,” Oct. 13).
It’s about time she pays the piper. Hopefully she will be given a few months for assaulting a police officer and a nurse. But she is a white Hollywood elitist, so don’t be surprised if she walks.

Blair’s lawyers will get her out with a slap on the wrist. Her team will paint a sympathetic scenario by saying she has issues and was without her pills. They will quietly pay out her victims.
The publicity will then rekindle her movie career. I hate to say it, but this could be fantastic for her.

Blair should be banned from flying all airlines. Her irrational behavior cannot be tolerated. It puts everyone on the plane at risk.
Let’s hope she receives the medical help she needs. But, in the meantime, she needs to steer clear of airplanes.
