Texas A&M's offense will need to play above average to have any shot at upsetting No. 13 Alabama on the road this weekend, as redshirt junior quarterback Marcel Reed is expected to make his eighth start of the season, while sophomore backup Brady Hart will be waiting in the wings.
The Aggies' 10th-ranked secondary should keep the Crimson Tide from running up the score early, as sophomore QB and former five-star prospect Keelon Russell has struggled in the pocket during Alabama's two-game losing streak, passing for under 200 yards in both losses.
Junior wide receiver Mario Craver sat out Saturday's 41-0 win over The Citadel and is still listed as "questionable" with a 50% chance to play on Saturday, according to Wednesday's injury report, while sophomore wide receiver Kelshaun Johnson is officially out with an undisclosed injury. For Craver, this might be precautionary, while freshman receiver Aaron Gregory and sophomore TK Norman will likely play significant roles on Saturday.
Against the Citadel, Gregory led the team with 94 yards and two touchdowns, while TK Norman caught five for 88 yards and was Marcel Reed and Brady Harts' favorite target. With Alabama transfer Isaiah Horton, who needs to improve on his Week 7 effort, the Aggies have enough talent at the position to score 20 or more points.
Other questionable players include linebacker Daymion Sanford, defensive tackle DJ Hicks, defensive end Anto Saka, and offensive lineman Trovon Baugh, all of whom missed Week 7. The hope is that every player listed as questionable plays, especially Sanford and Saka.
Note: Wide receiver Ashton Bethel-Roman is reportedly dealing with a personal issue and is currently not expected to play vs. Alabama.
